Using the site
Does it cost anything to post or apply?
No. Posting a job is free, replying to one is free, and we take no commission or booking fee on whatever you agree between you. The site is funded by advertising shown alongside the listings.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There is no sign-up, no password, and no profile. You fill in the post form and it's live. The trade-off is that we hold almost no personal data about you — and that we can't yet offer ratings or verified histories.
Can I post from outside Canada?
Yes, as long as you can be reached on a Canadian phone number. Find Me Job is a noticeboard for small jobs done in person in Ontario, so a listing has to leave a Canadian number, with the area code. An email address on its own isn't accepted — these are jobs done in person, so people need to be able to call or text you.
That number is what counts, not where the form was filled in. If you're a Canadian posting while you're away, your listing goes live straight away like any other.
How do I edit or remove a job I posted?
You can delete a post yourself. Open your listing on the board from the same browser you posted it in and you'll see a Delete this post button on it, which nobody else sees. Deleting removes the listing and the contact details on it for good.
When you post, we also give you a private link to that listing. Keep it if you might want to delete the post from a different device, or after clearing your browser data — it's the only other way back to the delete button, and we can't send you another copy.
There's no editing yet: to change a listing, delete it and post it again. If you've lost both the browser and the link, send us the job title and roughly when you posted it through the contact form and we'll take it down. Listings also come down on their own 45 days after posting.
Why is the job board empty or very quiet?
Because we're early. We're starting in Ontario, Canada, and there genuinely aren't many listings yet. Every post is shared with every visitor, so what you see is the real board — we'd rather show you an honest quiet page than pad it with invented listings.
What kind of jobs belong here?
Small, practical, mostly local work: moving and delivery, cleaning, home repair, tutoring, pet care, events and catering, tech help, errands, admin, trades, and shift cover. If it's a few hours to a few days and it happens near you, it fits.
What doesn't fit: anything illegal, anything requiring a licence the worker doesn't hold, multi-level-marketing or recruitment schemes, adult services, and "pay us a fee to get started" offers. See the terms of service.
Money and payment
How does payment work?
Entirely between the two of you, directly, normally in person once the work is done. Find Me Job has no wallet, no escrow, no deposits, and no card form anywhere on the site. We never see, hold, or move your money.
Someone claiming to be from Find Me Job asked me to pay a fee. Is that real?
No. It is a scam, without exception. We will never ask you for money, card details, banking information, or a transfer — not for verification, not for a background check, not for "premium placement". Please report it so we can remove the listing, and read the safety guide.
What if I do the work and don't get paid?
We have no ability to recover payment, because the money never passes through us — this is a private arrangement between two people. That's exactly why we recommend confirming the amount and the timing in writing before you start, and why you should be cautious about large jobs with someone you've only just met. If the listing was fraudulent, report it to us and to your local fraud reporting service.
Safety and trust
Do you check or vet the people who post here?
No, and we want to be blunt about it: we do not run identity checks, background checks, licence verification, or insurance checks on anyone. Listings are published as submitted. That's why the safety guide matters — the checks are yours to make, and it explains which ones actually help.
How do I report a suspicious listing?
Use the contact form and include the job title, the category, and roughly when you saw it. We review reports and remove anything that breaks our terms. If you're in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
Is my contact information public?
Yes — the Canadian phone number you type into the contact field of a job post is shown on that listing, because that's how people reach you. Only use a number you're comfortable making public, and give a neighbourhood rather than your full street address.
Privacy and advertising
Why do I see ads, and what data do they use?
Advertising is what keeps posting free on both sides. We use Google AdSense, which may set cookies to measure and personalise the ads you see. You can accept or reject non-essential cookies from the notice on your first visit, and change your mind any time via "Cookie preferences" in the footer. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
Do you sell my personal information?
No. We don't sell or rent personal information. What we hold is minimal — job posts you submit and, if you write to us, the contents of that message.
